ABOUT FORMA
Forma is a thoughtfully designed pottery studio in Napa focused on slowing down, making with intention, and building community through clay. We welcome beginners and experienced makers alike, creating a space where curiosity, creativity, and process matter more than perfection.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Forma Pottery Studio is looking for a reliable, experienced Studio Technician to help keep our community ceramics studio organized, functional, and running smoothly.
Schedule is approximately 15-20 hours per week with some flexibility. Must be available evenings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reclaim and recycle clay
Mix and maintain studio glazes
Guide members through studio procedures, equipment use, and ceramic techniques.
Lead new member orientations and studio tours in a welcoming and informative way.
Load, fire, and unload electric kilns
Maintain kiln shelves and firing areas
Organize work through the firing process
Maintain wheels, tools, slab roller, extruder, and studio equipment
Monitor clay, glaze materials, and studio supplies
Keep technical and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Assist with general studio maintenance and class setup as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Ceramics studio experience required
Experience with electric kilns, glazes, and clay reclaim preferred
Knowledge of ceramic studio safety
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
Able to lift approximately 50 lbs
Compensation & Benefits
$21–$23/hour, depending on experience
